Seamlessly joining the team during a high-pressure period

An extra pair of hands

I joined the team at Spread the Word to help during a high-pressure period. Their Communications Manager was going on maternity leave, they had the annual Deptford Festival of Literature coming up, and they needed an extra pair of hands to slot seamlessly into the team, contribute marketing and communications expertise and get stuck in wherever help was needed. I took on the PR for the festival and worked to enhance the user experience of their website. I supported the Director to fufill their obligations as an ACE NPO, working across the audience evaluation strategy, data analysis and their quarterly submissions via Illuminate.

Lewisham, Borough of Literature

In 2024, Spread the Word launched an exciting campaign to name Lewisham the first Borough of Literature in London. I created a thorough evidence of need report pulling data from a variety of reliable sources to accurately document the social, political, educational, environmental and cultural context in Lewisham, as well as outlining the campaign structure for the coming year.
